More specifically, the study seeks to answer the following questions: How did the Diocese of Nakuru evolve and what role did women play in it? What organisations did women establish and how effective were they in the discharge of this role? What specific activities did women participate in and how effective did they perform them? In what ways and with what consequences were women marginalized in decision-making and work in the church, for instance, the provision of education, health care, agricultural extension, and other social services? How did women struggle to have equal access to leadership and other positions in the church? How can the church be reorganised or reformed to enable women play a more effective and satisfying role in the church? This book is recommended to policy makers and scholars in gender studies.
