Western Australia ist nur eine Provinz, und es leben gerade mal so viele Menschen dort wie in Paris. Sie bedeckt aber ein Drittel eines ganzen Kontinents, mit einer Fläche, sieben mal so groß wie Deutschland. Abseits der bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten gelegen, ist sie bislang vom Massentourismus verschont geblieben. Dabei bietet dieser ursprüngliche Teil des australischen Kontinents so viele Naturwunder und eine Schönheit, die einem oft Sprache verschlägt. Unsere Reise beginnt in Darwin, der Hauptstadt des benachbarten Northern Territorys, die kaum noch von internationalen Luftlinien angeflogen wird. Von hier geht es im Camper-Van mehr als 5000 km durch den wilden Westen Australiens. Wir begegnen Krokodilen und boxenden Riesenkängurus, beobachten springende Buckelwale, bekommen am Strand Besuch von Delfinen und wir stoßen auf die älteste Lebensform der Erde. Und uns umgibt eine großartige, endlos weite Landschaft, die den Pioniergeist vergangener Zeiten konserviert hat. Western Australia is only a province, and there life just as many people as in Paris. But it covers one third of the whole continent, with an area seven times the size of Germany. Far from the well-known attractions, it has remained from mass tourism. But the initial part of the Australian continent shows us so many natural wonders and beauty that one often ends up language. Our journey starts in Darwin, the capital of neighboring Northern Territory that is hardly served by international airlines. From here we start in the camper van for more than 5000 km through the Wild West of Australia. We meet crocodiles and boxing kangaroos, watch humpback-whales jumping, get a visit on the beach from dolphins and we find the oldest form of life on earth. Surrounds us a great, endless vast landscape that has preserved the pioneer spirit of the past.
