Charles Lamb (1775 - 1834) was an English writer and essayist, best known for his 'Essays of Elia' and this edition, 'Tales from Shakespeare' - which he produced in conjunction with his sister; Mary Lamb. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
