In order to show how a solar cell works, this study will describe all necessary production steps and also illustrate the extraction of the required base materials. To understand the function of these cells, a technical explanation will provide the implementation of photovoltaic. A short historic overview about important milestones and inventors helps to understand the progress at the beginning of photovoltaic. At the end a short prospect will show further possibilities in the development with NANO-technology.
