Anotace knihy

We are entering an era of global population aging during which the number of postmenopausal women is set to increase significantly, with considerable implications for health care. This book reviews in detail the dermal issues most frequently encountered in conjunction with the menopause and highlights future challenges that will need to be overcome if the well-being of older women is to be successfully promoted. Both direct and indirect dermatological effects of the menopause are discussed and illustrated and treatments are presented and evaluated. Emphasis is placed on the need to view the menopause and the conditions that accompany it as a life transition rather than as a series of distinct medical conditions.
