Anotace knihy

This work reports on a three year longitudinal and §experimental research which aimed at promoting the §use of isiXhosa (one of the African languages) as a §medium of instruction in science from Grade 4 6 in §two primary schools in the Western Cape. The results §of the study show that there is a positive §correlation between the use of the learner s mother §tongue as a medium of instruction and learners §conceptual development and academic performance in §science.
