In this book we study the relationship between two phenomena that characterize the global economy in recent decades: the proliferation of regional integration agreements and crises. The interest of the subject lies in the paradox that currently are living emerging countries; indeed, while they play a role increasingly important in the global economy, they remain under threat of financial crises.
