Using ethnographic research, the author provides original insights into Shining Path's efforts to spread revolution to the capital city and the evolving responses of the urban poor to the insurgency. Most books (including our title "The Shining Path" by David Scott Palmer) on the Shining Path end their analysis in the mid-80s.
