Anotace knihy

This is a Russian translation of the novel about the 19-year-old American who is entering his adulthood in the middle of XIX century. Being trapped between a reality of life and its idealistic perception he has to make important choices and act. He leaves the romantic rural landscape for pragmatic cold of the city and tries to make a living with his writing. Eventually, the contradictions in his personal and artistic life lead him to strange revelations and the violent end.
