Object and Concept are at the center of Peter F. Strawson's philosophy: What do we refer to in our ordinary thinking and speaking and under what conditions is such reference possible? The question how we conceptually grasp the world is related to a series of problems in different areas of philosophy such as metaphysics and ontology, epistemology, logic and philosophy of language. All papers in this collection deal with one or the other of these aspects. In their systematic approach to Strawson's main topics they detect a number of weaknesses and yet reveal some possible remedies, thereby embedding Strawson's philosophy in ongoing debates.
