Excerpt from Notes on the State of Virginia Virginia is bounded on the Ball by the Atlantic: on the North by a line of lati tude, crożing the Eal'cern Shore through Watkin's Point, being about North latitude; from thence by a firaight line to Cinquac, near the mouth of Pa towmac; thence by the Patowmac, which is common to Virginia and Maryland, to the firlt fountain of its northren branch; thence by a meridian line, palling through that fountain till it interfeéts a line running Ball and Well, in latitude 39° which divides Maryland from Penn fylvania, and which was marked by Mefi'rs. Mafou and Dixon; thence by that line, and a continuation of it Wefiwardly to the completion of five degrees of longi tude from the eafiern boundary of Penn.
