The Linga worship of Siva, we know, was every where the predominant/form of the Hindu faith when the Mohamedans first invaded India. With respect to the Yogins; by whom mystical rites were mostly cultivated, it may be observed that there are many reasons for giving them aremote date: the excavations at Elephanta and Ellora.
