Anotace knihy

The main aim of this book is to highlight some important developments on artinian modules over group rings of the generalized nilpotent groups. Along with traditional topics such as dirct decompositions of artinian modules, criteria of complementability of some important modules, and criteria of semisimplicity of artinian modules, this book also focuses on contemporary and very recent advance results on this matter. The theory of modules over groups has its own specific character that plays an imperative role here and, for example, allows a significant generalization of the classical Mashke Theorem on some classes of infinite groups. Inversely, it leads to establishing of the direct decompositions of artinian modules related to some important natural formations, which, in turn, find very efficient applications in infinite groups. Among other topics the book also considers and describes injective envelopes of artinian modules for some essential types of modules. The authors have made this book self-contained, which significantly extends the targeted audience. Along with experts in groups, ring, and module theories, post-graduate and graduate students will also find this book very useful, informative, and easy to follow.
