Eddie Parlour was born in 1946, one of the post-war "boom" babies. At the age of two he was moved from the serenity of a small village in Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire) to the harsh streets of London, which is where he grew up. This book charts his life from his first memory - travelling to London in the back of the removal van - through his school years in the 50's and 60's and then into work right the way through to his retirement in 2008. Eddie's story portrays the images of growing up in post-war London and demonstrates that the "system" was not all bad for ordinary working class kids.
