This book is perhaps the first anthropological attempt to investigate on the issues of indigenous medical system of malaria in Ethiopia. Indigenous medicine is the sum total of a person s or group s health related knowledge, beliefs, norms, values, rituals and symbols. The book essentially assesses and compares the society s health care options such as home remedies, traditional medicine and modern health care services.
