Set in Rainbow Bottom along the Wabash River, "At the Foot of the Rainbow" tells of the lives of a dissipated Irishman, Jimmy Malone, his long-suffering wife Mary, and Jimmy's boyhood friend and lifelong companion, Dannie Macnoun. Through Jimmy's deceitfulness Mary is lost to Dannie for many unhappy years. When Dannie wins the fishing contest for the elusive Black Bass matters come to a head. He sets the Black Bass free and then love triumphs over lies and adversity as Dannie and Mary are finally brought together. Also includes a brief by the author of her early life and the beginning of her writing career.
