This volume summarizes recent advances in the understanding and development of new antipsychotic drugs from a wide variety of perspectives. Recent innovations in molecular biology and modeling offer a new array of neuroreceptor targets for drug development. Extensive investigations in neurophysiology, neurochemistry,and behavioral pharmacology have produced an understanding of antipsychotic drug action that goes far beyond the original dopamine hypothesis.
