Anotace knihy

Chinese ethnic minority education is virtually unknown to readers from outside China. Based on extensive qualitative and quantitative data, An Introduction to Chinese Ethnic Minority Education examines the policies of basic education for ethnic minorities in China. Policy implementation is also described. Successful case studies, as well as restrictive factors, existing gaps and challenges are discussed and problematised. Attention is paid to e.g. teacher training and the role of policymakers. The authors propose recommendations to solve the challenges faced by Chinese education, and to develop and implement culturally sensitive basic education for ethnic minorities in China.
