Ther teacheth us to forgive and to pray for them. St. '7ohn, when touching upon dhol's Murder, ulhers it in with a Preface concerning Love: Thir is the Mefi fage that ye have heard from the heginning, that ye love one another Let us then turn the Indignation upon our felves, and hear the Rod, and him that hath appointed it; confidering that God often punilhes fuch crying Sins with epidemical and publick Judgments he puts them upon a whole N ation's Score, and makes the innocent Sheep to {hare with the wicked Goats.
