Deutsch:§High Tension ist eine deutsche Heavy Metal Band, welche im Frühjahr 1980 von Armin Weisshaar, Tommy Dierstein und Joe Weisshaar gegründet. In den Anfangszeiten von HIGH TENSION standen natürlich hauptsächlich regionale Live-Auftritte im Vordergrund. Die Band entwickelte sich dadurch aber zum süddeutschen Insider-Tip und so kam es Anfang 1985 zu einem Plattenvertrag mit dem GAMA Musikverlag.§Die erste LP erschien im Oktober 1985 unter dem Titel "Warrior" (Hot Blood Records, No. 941315 / Vertrieb Intercord). Im Jahre 1985 befand sich der klassische Heavy Metal ja auf seinem absoluten Höhepunkt - Anfang 1986 verließ dann Drummer Dirk Beermann die Band, doch in Marco Roth aus der benachbarten Alpenrepublik fand man schnell einen passenden Nachfolger, dessen präzises Drumspiel man auch gleich beim 1986er Nachfolger "Under Tension" bestaunen konnte.§High Tension haben alles was eine gute Band ausmacht und "Under Tension" bietet alles, was eine gute Scheibe ausmacht. Power, ein Gefühl für Melodien aber auch Songs die straight nach vorne dreschen, wenn's denn sein soll. Die Gitarrenarbeit ist durchweg solide und technisch haben die Jungs auf der Scheibe einiges zu bieten. Songs wie "Rock'n Roll Rebel" ein Titel mit Hymnencharakter "Lady" ein Losgehsong erster Güte aber auch "Burning Heart", eine im Midtempo gehaltene Ballade, bei der alle Register gezogen werden. Verhallte Gitarren, Moll-Akkorde, effektvolle Breaks und Gitarrenfills.... was will man mehr.§Im selben Jahr ging die Band dann auf ausgedehnte Deutschland Tour mit der englischen Frauenpowerband "Girlschool" und bestritt weitere Gigs u.a. mit "Victory". 1987 folgte dann das dritte Werk von High Tension mit dem Titel "Masters of Madness" sowie eine ausgedehnte Tour mit der schottischen Hardrockband "Nazareth".§§Englisch:§HIGH TENSION is a German Heavy Metal Band, founded in 1980 by Armin Weisshaar, Tommy Dierstein and Joe Weisshaar. The line-up only changed in May 1986 when the swiss drummer Marco Roth joined the band. In the beginning the band pIayed - as usual - local gigs in the South Part of Germany. But HIGH TENSION developed in a way that they got a record-contract in spring 1985 from GAMA Musikverlag. The first album was released in October 1985 with title "Warrior" (Hot Blood Records No. 9413151 Distribution Intercord). The commercial success of this first album was not sensational, but the record got favourable critisicm everywhere and gave good rudiments for the further activities: So the second album was recorded in May 1986, title "Under Tension" (Hot Blood Records No. 900311 Distribution Teldec). Really everybody will realize that the band took decisive steps from the first album to the second!§The HIGH TENSION music is a heavy metal which has his origins definitely in rock'n'roll. Every instrument is played with such a natural groove and power that the whole songmaterial has his special character. It is the aim of the studio-work as weIl to reproduce all the songs in this way. But you'll not miss all the melodie parts and commercial "hooks" in the songs - please have a listen to the new album, then you can understand! Concerning the HIGH TENSION live-shows: Ask the crowd about it! Everybody is impressed by the wild and natural stage-performance of HIGH TENSION - not only the "Headbangers"!
