Gem Puzzle: Kar has decided to show his feelings for Ama by surprising her with a present. With Zea in tow as a dubious Gift Consultant, he ventures into a jeweler's store to choose something appropriate. When he decides that nothing he sees would be sufficiently distinctive for Ama, the store owner shows him a unique item. It's a fragment of a marvelous gem and Kar is given directions to where the rest of it may be found. Recruiting an unsuspecting Ama on a discovery mission, the trio uncover a mysterious stone map which leads them into a series of perplexing and dangerous traps. During their journey, Zea discovers a most amazing and unwelcome truth about herself. She also unearths a previously unsuspected ability, one which she never dreamed would be possible. Finally, after solving the various life-threatening puzzles along the way, and escaping a hideous magical entity, they encounter the ultimate riddle, in the shape of a lock which can't be opened except by the most bizarre method imaginable.

Mura: One day, Kar, Ama and Zea come across a very strange person, named Mura, who appears to be undeniably insane. She claims to be able to foresee the Future and to possess the ability to travel between dimensions. Kar and Ama are skeptical, and Zea is blatantly disbelieving, but Mura eventually convinces them by displaying an impossible knowledge of the details of their lives. Zea remains somewhat incredulous, however, and refuses to accept Mura's statements of her abilities. She also becomes startled to discover that Mura may have hidden feelings for her.
Mura settles all doubts by transporting everyone to another world although, at first, it appears as if nothing has happened, because the new world is very similar to the old one. But differences are soon discovered, convincing everyone that Mura has, indeed, fulfilled her promise. Following a brief episode of seeming insanity, Mura maintains there's a major catastrophe about to happen and, by the use of her abilities, she persuades the local Administrator to co-operate with her plans to disrupt the oncoming disaster.
During their mission of prevention, Ama is nearly killed and Kar takes an extraordinary, and extremely dangerous, series of steps to save her. An added ambiguity, one which very likely initiated the disaster, is discovered in the shape of an impossible object and this leads to involved speculations as to what it all means. To investigate further, Mura, Ama, Kar and Zea agree to remain on this new world to see what they can discover of this latest mystery.
