Anotace knihy

Disordered eating. Tear gas. Coked-out sex. This is life during a student strike. Girth is an uncomfortably honest poetic account of a woman's body, suspended between reflection, action, and self-destruction. As the speaker attempts to engage in an meaningful political process, she grapples with her self-image and chronic eating disorder. She is impeded by identity, violence, and politics, and the way they manifest in the body: as memory, as habit, as pain, and as stillness. A love letter to the best and worst parts of the self, a love letter to the uneasy contradiction in the moment before a decision, a love letter to anarchism and the goal of revolution in the self and the state, Girth is at once confrontational and familiar, grappling with the personal, the political, and every other word that means "body" or "I'm sorry."
