This book explains the fundamentals of neuroanatomy and illustrates their clinical application. It emphasizes anatomic principles and links to clinically relevant facts. Anatomic details that have little clinical relevance are only touched on briefly or omitted altogether so that the focus remains on the anatomy that is key to neurologic diagnosis.§§The premise of the book is that although we live in a time where we have sophisticated diagnostic technology, the signs and syptoms elicited by the clinician at the bedside are not only relevant, but paramount in the process of neurological diagnosis. I.e., with no physical examination, patient history and working hypothesis, rational decisions regarding what further studies and tests to pursue cannot be undertaken.
