This book describes the different electronic architectures and technologies used in electrochemistry and biomedicine, particularly in Point-of-Care and Lab-on-a-Chip devices. The book addresses how the electronics are designed and implemented for increased performance and functionality while addressing the issues present in actual devices. The book covers topics such as device design complexity, the many techniques used in electrochemical and biomedical fields, application to different transducers, analytes and targets, and the ability to output reliable data in a standard table-top device. It addresses three main approaches: voltammetric techniques, amperometric techniques and impedance detection, focusing primarily on the impedance technique and its impact in several fields of application, particularly in electrochemistry and biomedicine.
