This reader-friendly book looks at chaos theory -- how small changes can trigger monumental transformations. The example of this theory most often cited is that of Edward Lorenz, who discovered in the 1960s that the tiniest movement in the air in one part of the world can produce dramatic changes in weather patterns months later in another part of the world.
