Mit viel Einfühlungsvermögen, Humor und satirischer Schärfe entwickelt Rottenberg Einzelporträts und Gruppenbilder. Darsteller sind die Menschen aus seinem Viertel, denen sich das schwierige Leben im immer noch sozialistisch geprägten Alltag in ihre Körper eingeschrieben hat. - In UTOPIA, in his photographic portrayals of people from his chosen home of Havana, Cuba, Rottenberg creates an ideal of a supposedly perfect society. With tremendous empathy, humour and satirical edge, Rottenberg presents individual portraits and group pictures. Those depicted are people from his neighbourhood and the traces of the difficulties of an everyday life still shaped by socialism can be read from their bodies.
