How similar are humans to the universe which evolved them? This is the question which underlies the two essays in this book. John King claims that the key to understanding this relationship lies in the realm of the phenomenon of 'what-it-is-likeness'. Accordingly he considers the nature of 'what-it-is-likeness' in the first essay. In the second essay he considers various ideas concerning how many human senses there are, the nature of the 'what-it-is-likeness' of these senses, and how this 'what-it-is-likeness' relates to the non-human universe. He concludes that there are two human senses.
