She is faced with the spirit of a predator and a snake. Author Bio: Wajeedah Mohammad is Muslim and , the mother of four. Born in Hemingway SC, raised in Newark NJ, and is currently residing in Allentown PA. Ms. Mohammad is a student of the Institute of Children's Literature, she has written the play "Uncertainties of Life," and several poetic short stories. One of them, "The Captain Of The Ship," is dedicated to Imam W. Deen Mohammed. Being a Muslim woman, Ms. Mohammad was taught that women should reverence the womb that bore you. Her beloved late leader and teacher Imam, W. Deen Mohammed had high regard and respect for women. He said, "Her role is significant, starting with her shaping and molding the society in the home with the children." Matriarch is a novel that Ms. Mohammad dreamt about for many years. At age eighteen, before she became Muslim, she had always wanted for women, particularly African American women, to depict a picture in words, of who they are. Beginning with "A Lady,"-----A lady is someone with G'd consciousness, morals, and self-respect. A lady trudges the path in her journey...but in a dignified manner, adhering to the role of a Matriarch.
